CALL FOR POSTER MTCC CONF 2015

We warmly inform the guidelines for this year’s poster submission.

Conference Theme: “Promoting tobacco control through policy-relevant research”

The conference will be conducted on two days followed by others two days of Tobacco Control training (20-23 April 2015). Poster session is allocated during lunch break of each day.

The poster theme should be under these following MPOWER strategy:

  1. Monitor tobacco use and prevention policies
  2. Protect people from tobacco smoke
  3. Warn about the dangers of tobacco
  4. Enforce bans on tobacco advertising, promotion and sponsorship
  5. Raise taxes on tobacco

  1. The poster must be mounted on a 1 m x 1,5 m outdoor (banner) material. The poster does not necessarily have to fill the entire working area.
  2. The board should be oriented in portrait position
  3. A banner displaying your poster title, name and department/organization should be positioned at the top-center of the board (see Figure 1).
  4. Posters should include: Introduction, Methodology, Data Analysis, Results and Conclusions
  5. Make it obvious to the viewer how to progressively view the poster. The poster generally should read from left to right and top to bottom. Number the individual panels or connect them with arrows as a standard “guidance system” (see Figure 1).
  6. Leave some open space in the design. An open layout is more attractive to the eye and mind.
  7. Poster is in English

  • Word-process all text (including captions). Print on plain white paper with a laser printer or inkjet printer.
  • Text should be readable from five feet away. Use a minimum font size of 18 points.
  • Lettering for the title should be large (at least 70-point font). Use all capital letters for the title.

 Poster Criteria

Posters would be scored using these following criteria:

  1. Quality of the research
  2. Design
  3. Policy relavant
  4. Originallity

 Poster winners

  1. 1st Winner = IDR 3,5 million
  2. 2nd Winner = IDR 2,5 million
  3. 3rd Winner = IDR 1,5 million

Besides, winners and the lucky participants will grant some other privileges such as:

1. the opportunity to present their poster in an international event

2.  the opportunity to join the whole programs which include conference (research dissemination) and research training by JHSP and NCI/NIH

3. all accomodation and transportation fee will be covered by the committee.
